No no no, you misunderstand me, or I miscommunicated what I meant by that - what we have here is a hypocrisy. We have a lot of people on tumblr saying ‘I don’t care if you’re trans, or black, or queer, or disabled! …But I won’t idolise you the way I idolise these incredibly privileged men, is that okay?’ and it’s not okay, because Tumblr should be above hero-worshiping ONLY those who so stereotypically tick every box of the privilege bingo, yanno? I’m not generalising, I don’t think all privileged people are assholes, only those who fail to check their privilege - and Benedict, with his ‘it’s so HARD BEING POSH!’ bollocks hasn’t been. I’m not saying only the woefully oppressed are worthy of attention, I’m saying they receive NO ATTENTION, and that’s an imbalance that needs to be addressed. But Benedict leads a charmed life, and has been the lucky recipient of a very expensive education, and really should know better than to spew the nonsense he frequently spews.
