i missed a seminar last week so gatecrashed a seminar on the same topic with a different seminar leader, and i had the loveliest chat with him and told him how much i hated the early mornings for my other seminar. so he said he was going to poach me and i naturally assumed he was joking, but he just forwarded me an email chain between him and my other seminar leader where he asks to steal me because he liked my ideas on charlotte smith and penis envy and wants me to write them up for him and now i’m in his group and omfg i feel validated by an authority figure for the first time in my life this is so exciting you have no idea. but i lost the penis envy essay idea in a coin toss (that’s how we do academic study in cornwall) so i can’t write it for him and i’m trying to find out how to explain that but STILL i have many ideas about charlotte smith and menstruation that i hope will make up for it.
